It seems rather out of place that this is the only Phyrexia related card in the entire core set. It looks rather like the proverbial fish out of water without any of its biomechanical horror buddies to tag along.

Advantages compared to Obsi*** Golem (vanilla 4/6):
1 extra power
Goes in Phyrexian decks
Dies to Zzzyxas's Abyss later
Currently in print
Disadvantages compared to Obsi*** Golem:
2 less toughness
Obi*** Golem is censored
Less funny flavor text
Alpha printings are always worth more
Things that are the same as Obsi*** Golem:
Artifact Creature — Golem
Uncommon in most sets
Mostly a core set card
2-word name

Lord, artifacts tend to be at higher rarities in core sets. Manalith has been the only common artifact since 5th Edition.

Its not too strong, its not too rare,
It has a hefty cost,
But works as Craw Wurm in my draft
until my foe has lost.

I for one welcome Phyrexia back into the core set.

Haha, at least we won't be seeing you in drafts as often as we did in New Phyrexia.

What does Wurmcoil Engine have over this? Only +1/+2, deathtouch, lifelink, Wurmcoil splits in half when it dies... oh, and it costs the same amount of mana.
Yeah. That should clue you into how terrible this card is. Yes, Wurmcoil is a mythic, but this is an uncommon. It shouldn't be that much worse...

Not incredible, and certainly lacking a funny children's rhyme
