@tavaritz: You may want to check out the just-been-previewed Magic 2012 card Master Thief. He's like a modern version of Aladdin, and he's blue.

Odd thing is that, while the story of Ala-ed-din WAS set in Cathay, there wasn't exactly much else that suggested a Chinese or other not-Persian-or-Arabian setting in the original (for starters, look at his name!). Cathay was probably chosen just because it was a place the Persians knew of that was EXTREMELY distant.
