- devastating if it get's countered.
- does not grand you any mana accel, just fixing. if you want mana accel, play explosive vegetation instead
+ good in mana fixing
+ good if forked, since you don't have to sac lands for the copy
+ good if you temporarily steal lands from an opponent, like with Herald of Leshrac
+ since it costs 4 mana but tutors for 5, and you can sac tapped lands, it actually produces 1 mana
+ getting 4 lands from your library increases the chance to draw non-lands, which is a nice effect in the late game

It's a sad thing that this gets wrecked SO badly by counterspells. Today it would probably have been templated differently (see Scapeshift); Green is, after all, not the all-in color.

Gaea's Balance + Second Sunrise: the combo that feeds itself! Just get some revised duals and win.

Flagstones and Gods' Eye and this card gives immense card advantage. Don't believe it's tournament viable as you'd need to play those lands in a 4/5C deck. Scapeshift's somewhat better in that case, except you can't play your nephilim that same turn.
You don't have to search for a basic land, just of that type. Therefore, Dryad Arbor is fair game, or search for that single off-color dual land you have in your deck to net a total of +1 mana in a 4 color deck.

it's practically free since you get to put the lands into play and they don't come in tapped...
