It's a troll...under a bridge. Now we need something like "The Three Boros Goats Gruff" in the next set.

The Trestle Troll might be an ugly monster,
but at least his name has a pretty consonance.
Since it appears that he ate a dove, he has also something pretty on the inside.
And that's what counts, right?

Excellent art. "Bird? NOM!"
That aside, it's a touch costly, but can help with the minor Defender subtheme.

Read the flavor text on the Golgari Guildgate.

I was surprised to find that this is the first creature EVER printed to have both reach and regenerate. Very few other spider-type blockers can hold off your opponent's dragon/demon/angel/whatever every turn and live. Even the list of flying regenerators is pretty short; it stands at about 25 right now -and that includes some massive guys like Devouring Strossus and Hellkite Overlord who really don't serve the same defensive role. For that reason, I think at 2.845 this card's currently a little bit underrated.

Reach + Regenerate + Defender = what's not to like?

I like how the art shows that he eats birds. Just like how he eats bird tokens.
One of my favorite walls. 4/5.

Flavor would've probably fit better in innistrad given that trolls under bridges are a horror trope, IO.
That said, this is a good staller; but stallers don't often last in constructed and aren't great for the colors. The colors are so good at removing *anything* and so powerful in aggro that I fear this guy doesn't have much of a home outside limited.
In limited I imagine he's house.
