I don't know why people are suggesting this is a bad card in any way.
1 mana instant draw a card can't be countered that doubles as a land... Man i wish this was legal in modern X(

I seem to mistake that bird in the art for a dead bug or a small piece of garbage, because I've tried to wipe it off twice now when looking at it in my opening hands.

I guess this is the home of the Sandbar Merfolk and Sandbar Serpent from Urza's Saga, both of which were fairly unmemorable creatures with cycling.

The cycling lands aren't as interesting in the Izzet deck as in the Golgari one, thanks to life from the loam, but they are still very good in triggering Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind's ping or in finding that last spell you need to pump your kiln fiend.

Meh, what's to say? It's only redeeming quality is its cycling, but it doesn't change the fact that if you bounce it with a double land you've only got the ability to cycle it or play it tapped.
