I think people are missing the most important part of this card - that this little guy will kill you, eat you, and then play your skull like a drum. If this is reprinted, I want to see this art again.

Decent sideboard against a threshold and/or reanimation deck. Only one in the casting cost means you can stick it into a multi-color deck and support its ability with other spells.

Seriously guys, the art is of a BADGER using a SKULL as a DRUM.
How is this not instantly 5 out 5 material?

GRAVEYARD GRAVEYARD!
I'm so sorry. :(
Anyway, another little sleeper card which isn't really powerful but can be used well today. Whispersilk Cloak, and let him go nomming!
Too bad about the loss of combat damage though... Later, they did the opposite, the creatures had to successfully deal damage to actually trigger the effects...

Someone at Wizards must have been mad this was on the Reserved List. And so Scavenging Ooze was born.

This card is the only legal card that will show up if you do a text search for "bad ass."

Heather Hudson awakes. Rubs eyes. Starts pot of coffee. Shuffles to bathroom. Brushes teeth. Checks email. The rest is known only to the Elder Gods... Are we all Rysorian Badgers?

Cutie! But the ability seems pretty black, and is rather narrow too. It's just 2/2, they can probably block or kill it if their graveyard contains something important. And it's just creatures - sometimes you want to get rid of a noncreature card too.
