Turn 1. Basking Rootwala. Turn 2 Wild Mongrel. Turn 3 Discard and play Arrogant Wurm. Turn 4 discard and play Roar of the Wurm. A beautiful and classic combination. There's also dozens of other great cards to play this with too.

I discard it to anurid brushopper on turn three then play it on turn four, or i just wait for wrath if my opponent has it.
It's a nice piece of my favorite deck, and i even made wurm tokens out of clay for it.

Okay, it's been said through in through that this can be put into play for turn 4.
Back in the days it was already quite surprising, but when I just came back playing recently, I played casually with a few guys with my U/G Treshold Deck (which has this and Wild Mongrel and the gang).
Even with the powercreeping ever since the Oddyssey days, the look on your opponent's face when you drop a 6/6 on turn 4 that can fly (because of Wonder being in the graveyard) is just priceless. What a way to get me back into magic again :D

Definitely a great card, and the Flashback cost is superb.

I still play this. A 6/6 for feels way ahead of the curve, yet in play it's actually quite fair given the hoops you have to jump through. A lasting great.

turn 1: land, lion's eye diamond, roar the wurm. Enjoy your 6/6...just make sure you have a brawn or wonder in your hand at the time for evasion.
