Serra Angel --> Lord of the PIt. They costed this six because one costed five and the other seven, the problem was Lord of the Pit wasn't worth seven mana to begin with...

I love this creature. 4/4 with flying and vigilance for 6 isn't bad, but transforming into a creature better than Lord of the Pit is nice. The concept is amazing; basically the before and after of Fallen Angel. DarthParallax is right, it fits perfectly in with Kaalia.

I have a angel edh deck and its a shame i can't run this in it. The second i get threshold i gotta start saccing angels and when you can only play about one turn that really sucks.

You could run a colorless source of tokens, there are quite a few of those.

But this has got to be the best threshold ability in the game. I know it's been posted several times but bears repeating.

I hope this eventually gets a more compelling illustration. It's an interesting card, but an angel horror could be portrayed so much more interestingly. As it is now, I'm always inclined to just leave it in the box and move on. Shame.
