And also, couldn't they have let Alchemist be a creature type? The word "Cleric" is so much less cool than "Alchemist"...

Just no. Four mana for a 0/2, and for that I can't even use the creature it saves the next turn? Samite Alchemist is one of the worst creatures ever printed.

This alternate flavor text doesn't make much sense either. Unless wizards knew how bad the card was.

For that cost I'd just let the creature die and play another.
Ah, Homelands...I never thought things would get worse after Fallen Empries. So happy you proved me wrong.

There are two versions of the art for this, but right now you can't see the alternate. Unfortunately that means that no matter how many times I click, I've got this ugly fellow giving me his attempt at a come-hither stare.
Does his face remind anybody else of the start of a Picasso painting? Obviously it's not nearly so abstract, but his left eye (on our right) looks like it's migrating to a new spot on his face. It's unsettling, to say the least.
Put that art together with the card itself, and I'm tempted to nickname this guy "Samite Roofier". He uses his chemicals to tap down one of your creatures, and it doesn't untap the next time it should? Shady business, there...
