@Fert12334: From the get go: Red Elemental Blast.

I have bad memories of this card. This, REB & Pyroblast meant that my Stasis deck wasn't going anywhere.

Wow, finally i know where the name of the triggered ability Gotcha from Unhinged was likely derived from.
It's a pity that Jaya doesn't use this ability, isn't it? ;)

I like this card a lot. F's up blue decks on an unsuspecting opponent!

Makes you wonder why they don't reprint this.

@outlawD1; you can target any instant spell, and draw a card from it. It only counters the blue ones.

A person could make a complete Jaya deck now, with nothing but things that have her flavour text.

Who else gave it 5/5 for the Flavor Text?

RED COUNTERSPELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, wait, Jaya Ballard does this. Now it makes sense. (She's a planeswalker, just her card doesn't look like one).

Guttural Response with a cantrip

but shouldn't it now simply read "Counter target blue instant spell"

the art is a bit misleading on what the card actually does

I love this. 1/5 without cantrip. With? 4/5. Excellent sideboard material and makes up for the fact that it's extremely reactionary.
