I got 3 of these in my B/G/U self-mill deck, and I discovered an awesome combo:
Get this guy into your graveyard (somehow), and have at least one creature that has "T: Draw a card, discard a card", like merfolk looter or thought courier. Activate their ability, and return Golgari Grave-Troll to your hand instead of drawing a card. Then mill 6 cards, and discard Golgari Grave-Troll.
This basically changes the afore-mentioned card texts to "T: Mill 6 cards"... Which can be EXTREMELY effective!
5/5!

The flavor here is that he's a skeleton made out of the bones/bits of your other creatures; the regenerate is you blowing chunks off of him.
I think.

I used to think this was a mediocre card, but just because I had recently taken several losses at a magic tournament from mill decks and was struggling with an irrational fear of a large graveyard, and thus of dredge. THEN I saw how Dredge could interact with his other abilities.
I no longer have a fear of being milled out when I have this card.

Can become a big scary creature in no time. If he had trample he would be insane.

That's why Brawn is in my dredge deck

This guy isn't good because of the two paragraphs up top, the real way this card is bonkers is Dredge 6.

It really is a beast. The only way I was ever able to get away from it in casual dredge decks is flashing Kulrath Knight just so it couldn't attack or block...but Kulrath is 5 cmc. If they are playing a true dredge deck, turn 1 or 2 is the only banking turn you have to run from. Good luck. HAHA
