Of course it's going to be over-costed, it's direct damage . . in green. If you want to play efficient burn, go red and play Shock for R. I would dump this in a mono green deck all day, if only for shock value. Absolutely not tournament playable but that's not the point. 2 damage that can be directed at any creature or player . . in green. One of my favourite cards of all time.

I understand that green doesn't get direct damage, but... 2 for 3Green at sorcery speed? That's almost insulting compared to Shock. I doubt this card would have been game-breaking at 2Green and/or instant speed.

When this card came out, it was already mostly outclassed by Aeolipile. Being green is no excuse. It would be perfect costing 2Green and being an instant.
