Well, and once we get another nantuko husk or phyrexian ghoul or vampire aristocrat. Well, not quite. This one is a tad worse, because it can't sacrifice itself.
Newer players might wonder why allowing to have a creature sacrifice itself is good. But it can trigger all sorts of effects (fecundity, gravepact), prevent opponents from stealing it or casting other nasty spells or enchantments on it. It can give you threshold, fill the graveyard for other reasons, reduce the number of creatures you have if a card checks that, and so on and so on.

In a fantasy world, most people should know better than to approach a child who is alone in the wilderness; they're never as harmless or defenseless as they look. Even without her feasting on the blood of her comrades, it still takes a grizzly bear or something equally ferocious to take her down. If she sucks the blood out of a team-mate, she can suddenly easily kill that grizzly bear.

Actually strictly worse than Vampire Aristocrat since he's a Rogue, and there are pro-Rogue cards but no anti-Rogue cards.
