Running him in Radha, Heir to Keld EDH. That extra RR she pumps out speeds up the time to activating Monstrosity, and if I can give her vigilance, she can attack, add RR, then tap to add G and really speed it up.

Great in Grixis Control or UWR Control sideboards for the matches against Esper or UWR

For all questioning the difference pro white makes, yes it is that big. Any deck that has a lot of fatties (e.g. any green deck, dragon deck) is vulnerable to control. There are few options to deal with this (i'm thinking the likes of steely resolve and privileged position) but these aren't much use to me, since everyone i play with packs a set of disenchant/naturalize. This is exactly what my dragons have been waiting for.

"..." - Volcanic Dragon

"Look at the bright side. At least your successor is cheaper. Unlike mine. *chuckle*" - Shivan Dragon

A 4/4 flyer with haste and pro white along with a fairly significant Monstrous ability? Or phrased in a different way, a card that is solid for constructed and has quite a bit of casual appeal (I know the Timmy in me smiles when I see him on either side of the table). Annnnnnnd.... it's rated at 3.786 currently. Gotta love the "dies to Doom Blade" crowd who downrate something just because it can be countered/dies to removal/ can be swept off the board/exiled/discarded. So can the vast majority of cards in MTG. Get over it. Easy 4.5/5 here.

I see much potential for this guy in Modern. Doesn't die to Abrupt Decay, Path to Exlle, or Lightning Bolt, the most prominent removal spells in the format. The monstrous ability further hates on Path to Exile by providing something to do with all of the basic lands the opponent gives you.

The pro-white continues to be my favorite part of this card. Because I'm a follower, I use him in a gruul elves-and-dragons deck. I have a lot of friends who play white. Being able to ignore Spear of Heliod's destroy effect, Pacifism, Detentio Sphere, etc is so huge. Sure, doom blade still gets him, but doom blade gets a lot of things.

The monstrous ability is expensive, yes, but that's what Xenagos, the Reveler's +1 is for, alongside good old green mana critters. Not quite a 5/5 card, but a very powerful dragon, especially against control players. 4/5

@FarisV Illusionists Bracers wouldn't make him a 10/10. The copy of the monstrous ability still checks to see if he's already monstrous. One would resolve, and then the second would do nothing.
