My Edric EDH wants to know, which is better: Sun Quan, Lord of Wu or this? Ideally I would run both, but not sure what else to take out...

Sun Quan doesn't leave you open to Hurricane effects, yet this seems to inconvenience the opponent more... anyone able to help me choose?

@BlakeHN: Horsemanship is much rarer than Flying without having to worry about Reach. My recommendation is to run both, but if you really can't take anything else out, keep Sun Quan.

This sorta seems like a really broken version of Maze Glider in almost every way.

@BlakeHN As much as I like this guy, I think it would have to be Sun Quan. If you leave them with flying, then they're more likely to attack each other with fliers in the hopes of getting cards off of Edric's effect. Plus you don't have to worry about reach.

"You can't gain" always takes precedence over "you gain" in magic. If a card says "you can't gain life" and you play another card that says "you gain life," sorry, you don't gain life. If a card says "your creatures can't gain flying" and you play another card that says "your creatures gain flying," sorry, no flying. Therefore if both payers have an Archetype of Imagination in play then nobody can fly.

This card is expensive and has a terrible body for the price. However in some decks it's a finisher that will end the game almost immediately. If you stick this on turn 7 in Simic or Zombies, it may as well read "target opponent takes 12 damage per turn until this card leaves play."

It's a niche card, but it's not bad!
