"Sacrifice" is not the same as "dying" in the same way that a "Square" is not the same as a "Rectangle."
However, one implies the other, hence your 0.5/5 rating (and not just from me at the time of posting).

A 10/10 for 8 is just about on curve; compare Colossus of Akros, for example. That ability though? Holy crap. A reset button on a creature... never thought I'd see that. I agree with Trygon; expect Atlas here to get banned in EDH almost instantly.
@car2n: No, "destroy" and "sacrifice" are not the same thing. A creature dies when it is sacrificed, but it is not destroyed when it is sacrificed.

I'm really upset that red's mythic is Prophetic Flamespeaker instead of this. Yeah, the flamespeaker is good-but that's it. Its a hyperefficient low cost card meant for tournament play with no flavor whatsoever-exactly what mythic shouldn't be. This, on the other hand, is Atlas! Its a 10/10! It holds up the entire world! It has "destroy all permanents" written on it! And yet its not a mythic.
@Syrtrees and anyone else disagreeing with that this should be mythic, the following is an article by Mark Rosewater on, among other things, the mythic rarity:

bolasevilplan, I actually want to pull this and the card you mentioned at the prerelease. not because of the ineffective combo, but because of this:
load up a song on your phone (a specific song)
before the combo, play the song
"This is the end

do the combo when this part comes
