Really, Wizards, hehehe - too expensive and if it was permanent instead and lower the cost by 4 . :)
I would avoid this card at all cost in limited play, and it will never been seen in constructed
decks.

This thing has exactly one purpose: to be in sideboards as a mirror-match breaker vs. Blood Baron of Vizkopa. So it'll see play, but otherwise yeah, it sucks, because there are already 2 sucky cards in standard that do a better job: Street Sweeper and Volatile Rig.

This card is remarkable in that it embodies Fail on a variety of levels. First of all, it is overcosted jank. Second of all, its flavor makes absolutely zero sense. The Brazen Bull, which is what is depicted here, was used to KILL people. Therefore, merely tapping the creature and calling the card Deserter's Quarters makes no sense. Perhaps they commissioned the art and then backpedaled, deciding the subject matter was too gruesome. Either way, both functionality and flavor could have been done a world of good by having it add a -1/-1 counter to the creature during your upkeep or something.

This is a brutally disappointing card.
Even if you can afford it, it can't stop static abilities, and they get the creature back if they have artifact destruction.
What was wrong with Brittle Effigy?
