Like Curse of the Swine, the max value of this relies in upgrading your creatures and downgrading your opponent's. Windreader Sphinx benefits from both sides.

You can, technically, exile your opponent's creatures. While it seems illogical, playing EDH tells you that 4/4 flyers really isn't as bad as some of the others... plus, you get to target more than one players' creatures.
And it never hurts to change all your weenies (at the end of your opponent's turn) to deliver one final blow.

Gee thanks.. As awesome as this card is, I truly feel bad about this. By and far one of the best images for a sphinx (and the token is effing awesome too) on a instant spell...
Don't get me wrong, I will be investing in sphinx tokens out my ass for my new horde deck, but seriously Wizards, why not just put this art on a creature with a similar effect!
Post***: I understand I will likely be getting my pure tribal within the next year, with a high likelihood of getting another new sphinx in the next core, but conspiracy should also have at least one sphinx (and maybe more token production!) so i'm not that upset. :/

This doesn't seem like an uncommon, especially at instant speed. This is a big, flashy effect (and one that can absolutely blow away a game); it feels like it wants to be rare.
On the other hand, it's an uncommon in what is about to be a three-set Limited format, so it'll be pretty rare anyhow.

Very versatile. Purplerooster is correct, but this requires much more careful play than Curse of the Swine: To really get value, you'll want to exile big opposing attackers while summoning blockers that can kill small opposing attackers. You can stymie some pretty big attacks that way, the combination of unconditional removal and 4/4 flying flash blockers can be pretty nasty.

I'd like to think this is the Instantized version of Entreat the Angels with the option of a 2-Mana Exile. What's not to love about this card!?
1 - You can get rid of a creature that has been pascified. As well as get a fresh 4/4 Flyer.
2 - All those 1/1 Soldier Tokens Elspeth has been generating can now be upgraded to 4/4 Flyers.
3 - If you're playing Standard Bant you can get rid of all those Gods and various creatures. Making them one card and then D Sphere.
In short. I'm replacing the 2 of my Advent of the Wurm cards for 2 of these in my Modern Bant Token. It's pretty much like a Charm card. It gives you that many options. Plus Trostani will love it. >;)

honestly this card screams value for 1 more mana than advent of the wurm u could upgrade 2 1/1s into 2 4/4 fliers at instant speed that cant turn a game right upside down make a surprise blocker for a storm breath dragon for 3 or make a second one for good measure to follow up change those 10/10 into much more managable 4/4 but uea honestly i love this card wish it wer green but will definately find a way to use it
