Would it really be too much to ask for something like this to be reasonably costed enough to build a deck around? I personally wouldn't mind being able to play a strategy that interacts on different level than simply creatures in standard.

Card does not contain the other half of the split card.
It's a bit overcosted in comparison to Leyline of Lightning, Lightning Rift, or Burning Vengeance...

This has the bitter taste of Electropotence. It's a good effect with a fair enough trigger, but the mana-investment takes it right out. If it either decreased the CMC or removed the "pay 2", it would be a great card, but as it is, ew...

Ah, the red uncommon "build around me". Really should have been in Theros so people will pick it early in a draft, while here you've already got a third of your deck. that is, assuming you're playing Theros-Born-Journey

People keep complaining about the mana cost but with scry your going to get the land in your deck a lot faster since you can put them at the top whenever you scry them
