the one thing that makes this card a lot better than Vampiric Tutor, the fact that it isnt banned :P Vamparic tutor is TOO good. this is more balanced? (i prefer Grim tutor though.)

I usually use this is a 3 or more color deck that doesn't have that much black in it and use Grim Tutor in 2 color or mono-black decks

It's better than people really are saying. If you've got a way to draw the card afterwards for free, such as Sensei's Divining Top it's an alright alternative to Diabolic. I've only found use for it in a Legacy game, though.

I think its expensive because its one of the few tutors still legal in Prismatic. I guess people still play that?

Because no one wants to shell out $200 for a Grim Tutor.

Boomy? is that you?! what happened to you?!
Calculus and crack cocaine!
Very Well Designed card. I haven't played with Vampiric Tutor much yet, but I just bought one and I know for a fact Demonic Tutor is as dumb as Entomb, and they needed a lot of nerfing.
Grim Tutor is probably the Best All-around Tutor. From the perspectives of not ONLY Power, but Gameplay Fun. It being not-banned in Prismatic yet happens to be one of the signs of this, but I'll wager it's not so much that people play a ton of Prismatic, as it is that they play a Ton of Magic in general, and Grim Tutor looks more fun to play than Cruel Tutor OR Demonic Tutor. It's also much rarer than Vampiric Tutor, which has a Core Set printing.
Vampiric Tutor is highly Constructed Playable, but it's also got that Core Set Reprint, so there's a LOT more copies out there than there are of Grim Tutor. I'm not sure what the supply and dem... (see all)
