I strongly disagree with Scourglass being completely better. I'm not going to argue a 10 card is strictly better than a 5 card, but both have their place. Personally, I like the glass more because of the cost too, but I'd run this (or even both) in a slower format like EDH.

Sure, the glass might be cheaper, but it also gives an opponent an entire turn to prepare for the wipe (short of Shimmer Myr or Master Transmuter shenanigans, that is). So they might use that artifact removal they have been saving for your bomb or even top deck one and you are out that mana and a card. Not to be one of those "Dies to removal" types, but I think it's a valid argument in this case.

This, on the other hand, can't really have many answers short of a counterspell or some weird mass-regenerate/blink, which both hose Scourglass just as easily so that point is moot. As others have said, it also hits their lands so recovery is just about... (see all)

Man I really want to run this in my Tajic EDH deck. Suit him up with some equipment, and then blow up everything except him and his equipment. That's game right there.

The only probably is that the mana cost is soooo high it will almost never be cast.

This has much more impact than Scourgla.s.s because it destroys nonartifact lands, denying any answers the non-Affinity opponents might have in the near future.
7WhiteWhiteWhite is an impressive number to pay so be sure to include several artifact mana sources in your deck. Scourgla.s.s is a one-sided Wrath of God, this one should be the end of the game.

Why even spend the three white mana if you could simply cast All Is Dust instead?

The funniest part is that this is from Darksteel - how could one even manage to get half that amount of mana without having lost or won already?
