I like the way you think...!

A 4-damages spell is way more powerful than a 3-damages one, because you don't have to spend more than 1 card to deal with bigger thread!
However, DarthParallax, may I suggest you to include some Pyroclasm or equivalent spell, to burn 2 or 3 creatures at once, so you can save more spells to deal direct damages to the opponent? I think that this way it's a better deck. Then fill it with Char, Flame Javelin, Fireblast and other quality spell, as you like...

This card for me is perfect, because is balanced and simple, one of the card that could set the standard of the burn spells, something like a vanilla creature... Not every card have to be complex, and the simple version of some effect is always welcomed!
