@Ignasier: I don't know if I agree about hilarious art and flavour being entirely missing, but there is certainly less of it than there used to be.
The actual pop culture reference, by the way, is to the painting American Gothic. (just in case anybody didn't know and was curious)
It's not cheap, but mass land destruction is not something you see very much any more - never mind in the uncommon slot!

Orcs need to make a serious comeback in MAGIC.

My first thought was Training Grounds, maybe Mimic Vat too? Although with Mimic Vat alone, you'd have to pump in {6} mana to destroy one target land (at instant speed though!) I'm sure there are ways to use this effectively.

Hilarious art and popular culture references are surely missing in magic these days, now only "cool" cuts it.

Something seems so incredibly wrong about the phrase "destroy X target lands".

This card is worthy of a 5/5 for the flavor alone, not to mention I have enjoyed pouring my stores of mana into their ability to wipe out my opponent's lands.

I always loved playing this guy in my "big mana" deck and consequently causing my opponent to kill him, or loose 3+ lands. I miss cards like basalt monoliths and thran dynamo.
