In all seriousness, in a limited environment this guy did something black normally didn't do, disrupt draws. Mirrodin had scry, so near the endgame this guy could really save you. Of course it was the endgame, so everyone forgot about poor chimney imp and now people look down at it. As bad as he might seem, nobody will ever want to kill this card unless they absolutely have to. Respect the imp.

Drop this in a serious vintage tournament and watch your opponent instantly scoop. Moxes, black lotus, whatever, his hands will simply shoot out and pick everything up, his eyes will stay downcast as he silently acknowledges his total defeat. Even if he has Force of Will for Chimney Imp it's not like hes going to waste everyones time casting it, because the mere fact that you just cast a Chimney Imp goes to show that you're obviously playing 3 more.

i always play green, all green only green. but i knew that Chimney Imp was just to good so a splashed black i soon understood its not a good idea to splash green in a mono Chimney Imp deck
