An effect even worse than Healing Salve on a stick... pa-ss.

Lol, by that reasoning Hoodwink on a stick should be worse than Boomerang.
What makes this card so effective is that the burn that would catch a, say, Split-Tail Miko with his guard down can do nothing about an artifact.

Part of a five card cycle:
Pearl Shard <-- You are here
Crystal Shard
Skeleton Shard
Granite Shard
Heartwood Shard

Repeatable, but 2 damage isn't enough of a swing. And red loves killing artifacts.

Yeah, this is the most disappointing one of this set of artifacts.

I don't understand why this is rated so slow... You have the power to either save one of your creatures EVERY TURN, virtually nullify a burn EVERY TURN, or Prolong your own life EVERY TURN. That 2 damage is a big deal.
Considering how often close magic battles are won by a single round difference, or a final strike to the face, this can potentially completely reverse the end results.
And for all the people saying " a worse version of Healing Salve" healing salve is a one turn ordeal. Yes, you get surprise advantage while using it, but pearl shard will always be on the board to screw up your opponents as long as your opponent doesn't decide to waste a burn or a card destroying it. It forces your opponent to fight a little more defensively, providing you the much needed extra time to complete your deck's actual strategy.
