Its a fair card, brainstorm is way overpowered.

I like this card, as a fair and interesting card draw, quite like Compulsive Research...
You can always put on the bottom a couple of lands that are fermenting in your hand (something that you can't do with Brainstorm), like you can always discard one with Compulsive Research!
Or you can put a couple of cards on the top if you want to use them later, or to hide them against a discard deck.
I'm actually surprised that they didn't reprinted this since 6th edition, about 14 years ago! Maybe they think it's a little over the curve, like for Compulsive Research.

And I like the art! Phil and Kaja Foglio are one of the most funny artist of the old days! I like sometimes a little bit of funny or cartoonish art in Magic, too bad that now they want only hyper-realistic art, most of them with a super-evident computer graphic touch...

For nostalgia, and for actually appreciate this card, I'd give it 4.5/5... Instead, I give it 5/5 to raise its rating ... (see all)

In ways I like the effect more for Brainstorm, as you can ditch the cards to the bottom if they're not opportune at the time, but the higher cost keeps this card down. Still a good effect.

Obviously not as good as cards like Brainstorm or Ponder, but this card is very fun in formats where players draw from the same deck (like DC10). The fact the cards you choose from your hand don't have to be one of the three cards drawn is quite good too (making this card superior to cards like Portent). 2.5/5 stars.

Y'know, I don't mind the mana cost being bumped up, but being a sorcery instead of an instant kills this card
