Hybrid laces seem to me to be a good idea. They would cost 1 hybrid mana, and make the targeted permanant both the lace's colors. Granted, you wouldn't be able to use them to change the color of spells, but that's the trade-off for making stuff two colors, one of which isn't the color you paid for the spell. The change would still be permanant.

If they printed those cards, they could still target spells. They still wouldn't do enough for it to be a problem.

Multicolored Laces would make them strictly worse. The only use I see for the laces is for getting around protection, multicolored one removes their one realistic use. Which makes them even less playable than they already on. Maybe a multicolored lace that lets you choose which colors you which of the two colors. Prismatic Lace is really the only one that playable and just barely.

Protection from a colour works even if the source is multicolured as long as it has the colour. So prot red protects from for example U/R sources. So if we'd had a rainbow lace then using it for StP targeting a whie knight would save him.
So I'm for a rainbow lace.

Hahaha... the artwork is literally different colors of lace in a chaotic mess. Very funny... too bad the card is so awful.
