A lovely little card draw engine. Nice in multiplayer or EDH, but may be a bit too clunky for single player.

Lightning Helix and one time life gain effects are nice, but I find that this card works best with free life-gain triggers.
My personal favorites to pair this card up with air Recumbent Bliss and Wall of Reverence
Also works really well with the zendikar refuge lands. Suddenly, hitting land isn't as much of a dead draw anymore

Hooray for cards that make lifegain not suck! A common problem of lifegain.dec is that you run out of steam, like a perverse reversal of Red Burn. This lets you draw into more lifegain and win cons. It's perhaps not an auto-include but a strong contender, along with Ajani's Pridemate.
In the same block, we had Ageless Entity, as well as Loxodon Warhammer, and Beacon of Immortality.

this generates a huge card advantage in a life gain deck. e.g. heroes reunion, then pay 4 mana. For 6 mana you get 7 life and 4 cards at instant speed.

A friend of mine uses this to combo with Tamanoa and Mirrodin Talismans
