Scythe of the Wretched is one of those cards that just screams COMBO! And when parried with Crypt Rats it is able to do just that.

I made a similar post under Crypt Rats but I'm lazy and I don't feel like typing to much... So Long story sort I made a deck that uses Crypt Rats and Scythe of the Wretched to make an infinite combo deck thats really fun to play in multi-player... Ive gone through about 10 deferent decks based off this combo starting from when Mirroden was first released.

So 10 decks latter and heres where I'm at...

Its a combo deck based off Crypt Rats equipped with Scythe of the Wretched while having a mana creature on the field (ie Blood Vassal) and a life gaining creature (I use a Dross Harvester... for personal taste reasons) and now your off to infinite fun... well not infinite ... (see all)

@ Tercuis

I briefly describe what happen: Both creature are put into the graveyard and the ability of the active player trigger first which is the Scythe, then the trigger ability of Keiga is put on the stack if there is any legal target. If there is no creature on the field at this moment (the trigger ability of your Scythe is still on the stack), the ability cannot be played and therefore lost due to no legal target. Then the Scythes' ability trigger normally pulling Keiga back to the field under your control with Scythe attached to it.

If your 3/3 creature did not die in combat because you give it +0+1 somehow, he can target it with the Keigas' ability, and gain control of it while the Scythe is still attached. Rule 301.5d states that the creature is still equipped even when the controller has changed. However the trigger ability of the Scythe is still controlled by you, pulls back the Keiga and attach itself to it. Since the 3/3 creature loses +2/+2 due t... (see all)

Note: If the damage stacked up on your creature is enough to kill it when Scythe is removed, your creature will die. For instance, if you have a 1/1 and this is attached to it, and you kill a 1/3 with it, your creature will die when Scythe is removed.

Wojek Embermage+Basilisk Collar+Scythe of the Wretched. If you need to deal with red creatures, just equip him with Darksteel Plate, or something similar.
This is awesome great for multiplayer, especially if someone is playing Slivers, or some other Tribe, like Elves. Best part is, if you set the deck up right, you can get a creature out who is every color, and target him, so let's see how well an Invisible Stalker stands against that boom.
