This guy is decent all over. Easy to play cuz he is colorless, gets you a land, he is an expendable blocker, and he gives you an extra card when he dies!

extra land, extra card, and is a creature - all that for 4 colorless CMC. under old rules, block/attack (dmg on the stack), sac to ravager then bring it back to hand with myr retriever

Great card. Fetch-land in mono-black that is a creature I can sac to whatever effect I have and I draw a card? That is just awesome.

There is no way this card doesn't also represent Malil, the servant that Memnarch created. It fits way too perfectly.
