The new creature type definitely suits better to him, yet i'd have loved him to keep the old type and become a Demon Beast instead nonetheless.
Along with Spiritmonger this card used to be fun with Contested Cliffs (and other cards to evade hardcasting)...

I use this in a mass reanimation Demon Deck. Often he'll die from his upkeep the turn after, but he's all the protection I need from fatties the opponent might gain when I reanimate. To get around this guy you need an unblockable fatty pretty much (if you have flying support.) No matter how you cut it, this guy is brutal for that one turn, even if it IS just one turn. Also, if they somehow survive that mass reanimation they don't want those fatties exiled either.

He was a powerhouse, continues to be even after the change in the combat damage... It should have Deathtouch to restore the usual playability... Quite sad!

One of my favourite creature in Exodus, really changes the game once hit the battlefield! Thinking that it costs only Black more than a black Craw Wurm speaks of itself about how powerful it was even for its days!

Very nice. Attach a Regenerate type enchantment or artifact to him and you can Exile just about everything your opponent brings out.

Fire Whip, Hermetic Study, Hypervolt Grasp, Lavamancer's Skill, Power of Fire, Psionic Gift, Quicksilver Dagger , Viridian Longbow all work with this guy pretty well
