@sbridge:
The attacking player loses five life.
@EerieTeferi:
Wall of Souls does one damage to the attacking creature, which is a -1 -1 counter.It will also give the attacking creature's controller 10 poison counters. Wall of souls will die, the attacking creature is now a 9/9, and the opponent has 10 poison counters.

Creature type: Wall. Ok, that's kinda lame. How about 'Spirit/Specter/Nightmare/Horror Wall?'

He loses five life. A creature deals as much damage as power it has, even if the blocking creature has lower toughness.

Souls of the Faultless is a really more effective and complete card; yet the cost is much more specific so I suppose you get what you pay for...

When Wall of Souls is blocking a 5/5 non-trample creature, how much life does attacking player lose?

This is the type of card that should have Flash. Not interesting for fun.

Meh. Not as exciting as the likes of Stuffy Doll - admittedly it's cheaper but regardless it doesn't seem worth it without flash

When Wall of Souls defends a creature with infect, does that creature's controller get damage or poison counters?
