He used to be good, but people don't realize that he's no longer the best blue creature ever printed. After Meloku, Keiga, and Tarmogoyf, there is literally no reason to play Morphling in a competitive blue deck anymore.
Still, a great card though. Just not the best anymore.

I agree he's not as good as he used to be, but if you think "Superman" can't sit across the table from any other 5 to 7 drop creature in the game and not find a way to win... Well you just haven't played aginst him then... Take the Sphinx of Jwar Isle for example.... after 3 to 5 rounds of blocking him, Morphling kills him... And that's with or without the stack. (quicker with of course).... I normally would wait till I was playing someone to give this lesson on Morpling play, but I'll clear this up now...
Morpling plays with control and massive artifact mana exceleration... Sol ring, voltac key, mana valt, academy, ecc...
Mophling:3/3 vs Sphinx of Jwar Isle 5/5.....
Sphinx of Jwar Isle..... Attack declared... Morphling...Tap 9 mana
Morphling: 0/12 vs Sphinx of Jwar Isle 5/5.....
Morphling declared as blocker.... Tap 6 mana
Morphling: 6/6 vs Sphinx of Jwar Isle 5/5
Result: dead Sphinx... Living "Superman" ... 5/5 without the stack.... 6/5 with the stack...

": Morphling gains shroud until end of turn. (It can't be the target of spells or abilities.)"
This is why it has such a high rating.

if it weren't for instant-speed shroud, calling this superman would be a joke.
Be honest, you play it turn 6, and with new combat rules this guy's pretty eh' compared to other blue 6 drops considering how mana intensive it is.
