Some people just don't seem to get it. This card is THREE MANA TURN ONE. Plus your land. Dark ritual is good, and it's two free mana. THIS IS THREE. There's no "symbolic value", there's EXTREME FREAKING BROKENNESS. Not to mention it's really old. If you think this is bad, you should learn how to play Magic the Gathering my friend.

Beautiful card, and worthy of the crown of "best card ever created." There's a reason it's banned, obscenely rare, and prohibitively expensive. I have yet to lay eyes on one in my six years of playing Magic.

I absolutely love this card, but not for what it does in games of magic. I love it for the comedy it provides the experienced magic community, and for their entertainment (and mine) here are some of the best quotes MTG newbies have to offer,
