Insanely good. Can stall out decks that can't remove it and allow you to get the upper hand.

Pick Urza's Armor for a good time. Turns forcfield into a colorless Story Circle. NICE!

Great name on a very powerful card.
If you don't feel like shelling out the cash for this, check out Righteous Aura. It's a white enchantment that has a similar effect. You pay W and 2 life, but it'll prevent damage from anything. It was also a cheap common.
Both are great in Commander since they can reduce or stop Commander damage.

Against the decks you'd get the most use out of reducing combat damage, this doesn't do much at all.

If you also have Darksteel Forge and Leonin Abunas out, then...
The Forcefield will be with you, always...
Sorry, couldn't resist.

Amazing how a physical copy will run you $100+, yet you can get one for not even a full ticket online. As much as I respect Wizards for protecting the investments of their long-time supporters, the reserve list can make it a real pain to build an EDH deck..
