Much too risky to play in today's metagame. The turn you drop this, the opponent will Path to Exile it, and there you are with 0 life =/.
That's the problem with the game today, creatures are being printed that are so powerful, removal is needed to contend with them. And because of the existence of removal, we can't have nice things like this to play =/

If you can't gain life and it takes you down to 0, don't you sort of... lose when it leaves by default?
I guess they wanted to make sure, in case it phased out, maybe?

It's been said before... but this version of the card does not specify that you do not lose for having 0 or less life. Therefore, Richard Garfield trolled everyone with that giant wall of text which actually should have just said "You lose the game". Thanks for playing! When were the abilities officially corrected to specify what it does now? Even the picture of the Masters Edition IV "printing" has the original text. Therefore, the printed text on all versions of this card are all long-winded versions of "You lose the game." Only Oracle can tell you that you don't actually lose when playing this card.
