Holy god, the Oracle text is a nightmare.
The best part is the four-word parenthetical reminder text at the end. Waaait! We forgot something! (Piles can be empty.) Whew. Now it's easy to understand!

What makes it so confusing is that you can decide that two or more of your creatures are going to block together, whatever they end up blocking; and that every creature can be blocked, not by chance one creature gets blocked by two and one doesn't get blocked.
I'm going to use this in my banding deck and blow some minds.

Why did Wizards decide that face-down card = ALWAYS A MORPH CREATURE anyway? It ruined Illusionary Mask (not that I could ever afford one) and made this one incomprehensible.
...though I guess the existence of token creatures was enough to completely obfuscate the card's original purpose. Oh well. Still a fun and useful card, if you have common sense.

If you think the old text is a lot more comprehensible, you don't understand what it does.
