I use it in a deck using Measure of Wickedness and a bunch of little 1cmc spirits like Bile Urchin combined with cards like Act of Treason and Nantuko Husk and i just play a Measure, and sac my little dude and keep getting them back and it's kinda fun.

Could be useful with Shirei, if you happen to need to bring something back that was killed before he was. Plus, theoretically, this thing can hit for massive damage if need be.
Don't get me wrong, it's a terrible card, but it has its uses. Flying is neat, Soulshift is neat, that bizarre Shade mechanic variation is neat. It's neat but impractical, much like the rest of Kamigawa.

Tormented Soul and Plague Resalka are decent 1-drops you may want to recur; especially if using plague's sac ability to avoid exile or you've used devouring greed.
Either way, this guy is a reasonable finisher next to Crypt Ghast for spirit tribal. While Spirit of the Night is great, this guy can be recurred easily with soulshift, giving you, via crypt ghast, an easy 6/6 flyer (or larger) if you're desperate. I'd never run more than 2 in a deck; but they could pull their weight.
Then again, probably not :p
