This is amazing. Especially if you Vampiric Linked one of their big creatures the same turn. Maybe a waste of an aura, but 3 mana to kill a big creature and gain maybe 5 or 6 life isn't too bad.

Devour in Shadow is better, but this has just as nice flavour and also an attractive mana-cost.
