This makes plenty of sense, it represents a ***atrice pretty well.

Easily a 4. I guess people are grading it on it's availability and the picture over it's usefulness (A green flying that has essentially has deathtouch.......not something you see everyday)

It's a flying basilisk, which I like. My biggest complaint is that it's rare.

Building off of creature types has been over-done in Magic since the end of the '90s. Combos used to be real - and legitimate. Now it's just fanboys winning with thoughtless decks. To boot, fanboys with the most money win the most. Intelligence and deck-crafting were sold off by WotC a while back. :\
C-ckatrice is a great green card.
F-ck censorship.

Back in the day - this was 1 card you had to have in any green deck - the ultimate deterrent (at the time) for Shivans, Sengirs, Serras, etc. If you splashed white and threw in a Blaze of Glory......

My biggest complaint is that it doesn't have the Basilisk type. Come on, WotC, it's not like you've printed any other ***atrices befor, nor are you likely to again. To the best of my knowledge, there is no demand for more ***atrices in Magic. More Marids, Sirens, Riggers, yes, but for more ***atrices, no.
Hopefully, one day soon Assassin will be the only creature type in Magic censored by Gatherer.
Edit: As it turns out, WotC will be printing another ***atrice. Deathgaze ***atrice, which will be in Magic 2014.
