Playing this completely straight, I think Jason Chan, Eric Deschamps, Christopher Rush, or Volkan Baga would all make excellent choices for powerful decks.

Jason Chan did Jace, the Mind Sculptor, some other planeswalkers, and a number of high profile cards in the last few years.

Eric Deschamps did Garruk Relentless and when I started looking for other stuff he did I remember finding neat things.

Volkan Baga did the Vault version of Mox Diamond, and if you're playing an Un-card, proxying his Vintage Champs arts for the Real Moxen shouldn't be too far out of line (provided that Original Moxen are koshr with your group in the first place, a matter that should be decided separately from 'hacking the art'. The art hack feels cool, but using Moxen in the first place isn't necessarily encouraged)

And of course, Christopher Rush did, just to name ONE card that makes it worth knowing his name, BLACK. LOTUS. And he's painted other cards that are generally cool beyond just that.

I think Jas... (see all)

I have a question--when it says 'remove the other cards revealed ths way' does it many send them to the graveyard? If so It would be perfect in a Zombie deck.

Alas, you can only name an artist who's actually drawn a MtG card. It's just like creature types.

@Chic named Voss: Does the word GRAVEYARD show up anywhere? No. It says REMOVED FROM GAME.

Q: Can I change the artist to Pablo Picasso?

A: No. As with other aspects of the game that make you choose something, you may only choose legal options. This means that you are limited to people who have illustrated a _Magic_ card. You know, like me. (Blatant plug.)

The strategy still works though, you just have to say "Fay Jones" (artist of Stasis)

Why didn't this get updated to say 'Exiled'? Are the cards that are 'removed from the game' in the exile zone or not, Wizards? =P
