1 mana for a Flying 1/1 creature? Pretty good in the early game. And also what Silverware said 'cause that's how I use it.

The only thing that makes this card stand out at all is that it has some extra uses in a spirt deck.
Edit: Not saying that it is a bad thing. Just its not the most original card. One drop 1/1 flyers have been done in almost every color.
Examples: Zephyr Sprite, Suntail Hawk, Flying Men, Scryb Sprites.

Um, this is a white Flying Men with a relevant creature type. Even blue only gets Cloud Sprite nowadays...
Obviously it's not broken, but for a 1 CMC creature it's about the best you get.

Also has a use in standard decks, as a 1/1 White Spirit with Flying token, for the use of Doomed Traveler, Lingering Souls, Midnight Haunting, and the like

I'd use this over Zephyr Sprite or Flying Men mostly because of the wicked artwork.

It's a clone of Suntail Hawk, which is already a pretty good card, with more relevant typing, better flavor and amazing art. Apart from being strictly worse than Storm Crow, there's really no reason to mark this guy down.

Strangely, the art is my least favorite part of the flavor of this card... A modest floating lantern would have done it for me... This is, after all, the ghost of a lantern... It's just too hard to tell what's actually going on...
