If it's ability gave it Double Strike, this would be playable. Looking at the top card of your library is not a red ability, and can be very useful for red decks, so this would be a very good card if the second ability was improved.

This card is so terrible it makes my tongue hurt. How is my tongue related to this card? I don't understand either. I also don't understand why it should cost 2-3 mana to maybe, give a creature +1/+0 and first strike until end of turn. And the ability isn't even repeatable.

This guy is being underrated. Yea he's pretty mediocre, but at worst hes a grey orge. He can look at the top card you of library, which can combo with mill and shuffle effects, and he can pump himself and gain first strike if the situation is correct. Stop hating, this guy's a 3/5
