It took me forever to realize this old card was a rare. It had been in my collection since forever and i always saw it when i looked through them for a deck. Once i saw it was a rare on the oracle i figured what the heck and put it in a deck. It worked surprisingly well. It is certainly something that could still be played in casual.

Ah,the days when red received creatures more complicated than cheap Goblins and random, high-power, low-toughness berserkers. I understand the "color pie" but I sometimes think that WotC forgets that red mana is the magic of stone as well as fire. Mountains are stone, Earth elementals are stone, etc. Red should have a few solid cards like this amid all the "burn, burn, burn" of everything else.
