Probably THE most famous card to go into a 'Discard' Deck, ever. Fairly cheap to play, quite effective (2 damage per card adds up very quickly!) and, being a Black Enchantment, it gets a lot of support from a lot of other Black cards.
Works quite well in a multicolor deck too - Black/Blue being the best. Add Megrim to Lore Broker or to Magus of the Vase, and watch the Life points tick away...

This card got completely outclassed by Liliana's Caress. Sure, Megrim isn't strictly worse in that it is useful in the Pain Magnification/Furnace of Rath combo, but the caress is usually better.
