Why did they make this card? What was wrong with Sisay's Ring? (which btw has currently a worse rating and is essentially the same card....)

Wow, just wow... Sol ring is FROM THE VAULT! Of course sol ring is better, sol ring is close to broken and a very expensive premium 15 card case, this is a less than half a dollar card.
This is nice for EDH, since when you can only have 1 of each card, this is useful and dollar-cheap.

Your right, smae card. Funny thing is back when it was sissays ring it was decent. (Nice, not thrilling, but nice) By todays standards it is junk however.

if you want to bring this for vintage stormkeeper, i'd advice to use Thran Dynamo instead, which is, having the same mana cost and being able to produce three colorless mana instead, superior to this card.
