This guy would be great if his CC was a little lower, but a 2/2 for 4CC is pretty brutal. I mean, even with a regular regeneration ability (a la Drudge Skeletons for example) he would still be tough to Justify.
As usual, Creakwood Liege helps out immensely, giving you a 4/4 which is a lot easier to stomach. The fact that he is a zombie doesn't hurt either, as he will benefit from zombie-centric cards like Death Baron.
2.5/5, but really only due to combo potential.

This is bad not only because it's a 2/2 for 4, but because its ability is anti-synergistic with a dredge deck. You want to keep your creature cards in your graveyard to fuel Svogthos and Golgari Grave-Troll, not remove them to regenerate a puny 2/2.

The flavor text is great, the mechanics are great, the creature subtypes are priceless: 5/5.
It's cards like this that make EDH/Commander so enjoyable for me, because those decks don't have to be super-competitive and it's possible to play cards that are just cool and thematic, like a Plant Zombie in a Cadaverous Bloom deck :)

This is a pure limited card.
I can't see it being used in casual, obviously not in constructed, it's got no MP chops and it's just not that interesting.
But in limited sometimes a 2/2 with 'free' regen is what you want.

In Limited Dredge, this guy is killer.

Meh.
Should've been 1GB or been a 3 powered body.

Gift of the Deity is the only good combo with this card. Otherwise its kinda useless. Usually by turn four there aren't going to be that many creature cards in a player's grveyard and being a 2/2 creature doesn't justify the mediocre ability.
