I don't think people are "getting" it.
If you can't sacrifice a creature, sacrifice this guy.
If your opponent can't sacrifice a creature, sacrifice this guy.
It doesn't matter if you can litter your 'field with creatures to sac if your opponent doesn't have any to sac him/herself.
3.5/5.
It's decent enough, definitely a threat in its own right, but as someone said:
It's both a drawback as well as an advantage.

Wow this has a heavy flaw...that apparantly no one sees. At the beginning of your opponents upkeep if they don't control any creatures, you have to sac the demon. At best, it draws your opponent's attention away from killing you. If they're not even playing creatures, then this demon is worthless.

1 "Oh, you cast a * insert random above-average creature*? You'll have to sac it because of my buddy here"
2 "Damn. But you'll have to sac a creature too."
1 *points finger on a Reassembilng skeleton*
2 *sad panda*
A nice 5 CMC 4/4 flier with an amusing ability (and I love the grin).

Its only a drawback to the owner if they don't have the correct creatures in play. I would probably play this card with tokens, or Grave Pact, or Savra, Queen of the Golgari, or creatures that have "remove from play" abilities such as Havoc Demon.

As Demons go, he's underwhelming. As creatures go, he's still pretty good. I'd definitely rock one in a Kaalia deck.

You mean if there's more than one in play?
Yes. One creature sacced per Woebringer.

not many cards have an effect that is simultaneously advantage and drawback in one.
