Hardly broken. while it sure invites for combos, it also restricts the most broken of those combos (two moxes). plus the fact that it cost 3 mana and you need at least four cards for those combos to work (this+2 non-artifacts+a win con). And a combo is know for having two pieces, so four pieces is rather weak. Weak and thereby not broken at all.
Where people then starts to see this as broken, it is because the amount of cards and how they work together is rather good.
For Non-artifact permanents you can use:
2 Lands and fastbond + something that gains you life.
2 Kobolds of kher keep, or the other two kobolds.
2 Cloud of Faeries
2 Priest of Gix
Kerntaro, the smiling cat + Pearl Medallion + two one mana samurais
2 Skyshroud Cutter
etc. lots of more weird options, like hasty Llanowar Elves.

I hate cards like this - ones that obviously are broken pieces, waiting to be abused. WotC just leaves us to be exploited by them and fall asleep when the combos are unleashed.

This was in the same set as stuff like Fists of Ironwood. That in turn has nice synergy with Reality Acid - play one, and bounce the other, for many saproling tokens and a ton of destruction of everything from lands to planeswalkers.

Heh...I actually built a red storm deck when I pulled this puppy from a pack. Kobolds ftw, into a Grapeshot, or even more fun, Goblin Bombardment T2, this T3, then Empty the Warrens for the win :-)

i use this in my sliver deck.i combo aluren+cloustone curio+dormant sliver+ 2 other slivers i usualy use a virulant sliverand a screeching sliver for a infinite loop to draw most of the deck
