Very cool. A White and Black Knight for 3 and 3 turns.

The card is a Human Rebel Knight but the token it makes is simply a Knight.

Sounds like a surprising lack of symmetry until you realize that they deliberately held off on making human tokens until Innistrad block (specifically Dark Ascension; the tokens in Innistrad itself were spirits and zombies). Also Stangg, who doesn't count because he was errated.

As for rebels, nothing makes rebel tokens either. Maybe the Riftmarked Knight is a rebel because he's allied himself with the Black Knight. Brutal Suppression refers to "activated abilities of nontoken Rebels" despite the fact that nothing makes rebel tokens.

I think they tend to have a shortlist of creature types that are acceptable on tokens. Things like Saproling, Soldier, Knight, Goblin, Elf are in, but Humans (until Innistrad) and Rebels are not. And they won't go back and "fix" anything that should make human tokens (I'm looking at you Icatian Town) in the sp... (see all)

This is really handy. I've been looking for a way for my white deck to get a nonwhite creature without going with an artifact creature.

Such a boss card. No reason to not suspend him unless you absolutely need a body right now, which at the third turn I doubt. The bonus is that this pops right before the end of the game, and they both have haste and first strike. Fantastically timed.

For tha sake of triggering the effects of certain other cards, is the black knight token also considered to be "human"?

It saddens me that White shield Crusader was the last traditional white knight all the way until eventide with stillmoon cavalier (which only technically counts). They got back on track in m10 by straight up reprinting the original ones but it looks like they neglected it again in zendicar. Just always bugged me.
